Project Description

Zero Carbon Factory's energy storage system combines renewable energy generation with efficient storage to power their facility. With 108 PV panels generating 166.32kWh per day, the system meets the daily electricity demand (excluding production). A 100kW/215kWh ESS charges during off-peak hours and discharges during peak hours, reducing energy costs and carbon footprint.

Components

Zero Carbon Factory's sustainable energy ecosystem comprises several critical components working in harmony to redefine how factories are powered sustainably.

PV panels: harness the sun's power to generate clean and renewable electricity. 

ESS: charges during off-peak hours when energy prices are low and discharges during peak hours when prices are high.

PCS: ensures seamless integration and conversion of energy between different components.

EMS: optimizes energy flow and distribution throughout the ecosystem.

Distributor:  ensures that energy is distributed to different parts of the facility efficiently and reliably.

Monitoring system: provides real-time data and insights on energy generation, consumption, and performance.

How Dose It Work

The PV panels harness the sun's power during the day, converting sunlight into electricity. This solar energy charges the batteries through the PCS. However, if weather conditions are unfavorable, the Energy Storage System (ESS) steps in, ensuring a continuous power supply and overcoming the intermittency of solar power. At night, when electricity prices are lower, the system intelligently charges the batteries, optimizing cost savings. Then, during the day when electricity demand and prices are higher, it strategically discharges stored energy, contributing to peak load shifting and further cost reductions. Overall, this intelligent system ensures optimal energy utilization, reducing costs and maximizing sustainability.
